As a veteran, I'm ashamed of legislatures that propose bills such as this.  You can't balance your spending vs revenue and your introducing a feel good bill that you have no idea how your going to pay for this.  When I raised my right hand-  I didn't do it so a elected official can introduce and pass off expenses to another person.  I did it as my commitment to my country.  If you want to respect veterans;  balance expenditures with revenue.  Don't pass feel good bills. Sure veterans have problems when we come back.  But we don't need government solving our problems.

 

 

magspc: First, thank you for your service. Secondly, don't you think this is simply a vote-getting bill? With that said I'd much rather pay taxes to help support needy veterans and their families than pay for abortions for Medicaid recipients or fund lucrative salaries and benefits for government employees.

I am not sure I get the full meaning of this new bill but I get the essence of it. We don't need the state to make these decisions for us, it's humiliating and improper. I pay for my child support every month, we had a family law attorney San Antonio to help us with the legal forms for that, I would have payed even without the law telling me to pay.
