Re: 2011 Senate Bill 5756 (Expanding insurance coverage of neurodevelopmental therapies)

As a parent with a child with Cerebral Palsy it has always amazed me that insurance companies could and did exclude coverage for neurodevelopmental therapies.  We have spent thousands of dollars for non-covered treatments related to the CP in order to give our child the best possible chance of succeeding in life.  My primary concern is with parents who are not able to pay the doctors and therapists when their child has a neurodevelopmental problem.

Thank you for proposing this Bill and I hope you are sucessful in getting it approved, so that others who need treatment will have access to the services that should be covered by medical insurance.

Another government mandate that will increase the cost of insurance for all of us.  GOVERNMENT GET OUT OF THE HEALTHCARE BUSINESS.

This is a super bill!!  We are the grandparents of a child with Cerebral Palsy, and he "aged out" of his insurance coverage several years ago.  Fortunately his parents can afford to get the services he needs (speech therapy, physical therapy, and casting and surgeries).  BUT, what if they couldn't afford these services, and since they have another child he would not be able to attend college because of the expenses incurred.  PLEASE PASS THIS BILL FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO GET THE APPROPRIATE SERVICES FOR THEIR CHILDREN!  THANKS FOR SUPPORTING ALL THE PEOPLE WHO NEED THIS COVERAGE.
