You're wasting valuable resources to propose something like this.

I agree and you can see my response to this bill (or something curiosily close to it: 2011 House Bill 1004)

Re: 2011 House Bill 1163 (Concerning harassment, intimidation, and bullying prevention)
This bill is an example of what is wrong with government. Individuals introduce something with good intent. However where is it governments job to try to solve something that has been going on since we have had organized education? the outcome as the other commentor said is a big fat waste of time and taxpayers money. The outcome will be meetings that will come up with 100's of potential answers. But as in smoking you can't legislate behavior. My concern is the scope and depth of how much government participates in individual lives.

In a time when budget cuts are effecting so many other useful and needed programs that provide the for the basic needs of our fellow Washingtonians, it seems irresponsible of our government to allot funds to a bill like this. The timing is simply wrong.

I totally agree with all of you. Why would the goverment be getting into other peoples business?
If bullying becomes to serious then 1.)The child who is getting bullied could talk to his parents and 2.) The bullied childs parents could speak with the parents of the bully.
That is just one reason and there are many others.

Re: 2011 House Bill 1163 (Concerning harassment, intimidation, and bullying prevention)
I have dealt with my children being bullied in school. One of them was on a death list. The student who wrote the list was arrested at school, only to show up again the next fall for high school, like nothing happened. We were shut down when we tried to find out what was going on and offer our concerns as parents.
I understand that we need to be more proactive and ensure the school environment is safe and conducive to learning. HOWEVER, another group to "study" the problem does not sound like a solution for bullied student to me.

I do hope that this system setting follows one of the best formulas of efficiency. Every school needs qualified psychology personnel, in fact this is one of the reasons why psychology careers look soo appealing to me. It's challenging to work in this field, I really think that it's not all about the training you get, you also need to have the vocation of it.
