Both Washington's are destroying our democratic republic

Well Washingtonian's, our legislature and governor have, once again, acted to usurp the will of the people by suspending Initiative 960 for two years. You know the initiative where the people demand accountability of their taxes by the state by requiring a 2/3 majority vote to raise taxes.

Similarily, our representatives in Washington, D.C. seem to think our pockets are never empty and we ought to replenish the federal coffers with all of our money rather than just some of it with their spending bills, their push for un-Constitutional health insurance mandates, and the coming cap-and-tax that will not only hurt the entire U.S. economy but is based on false science. (Our governor and legislature have already led the way down this road with Gregoire's Executive Order.)

Our U.S. Constitution is being incrementally trashed. Our Washington constitution means nothing.

How much more will we allow both governments to trash this democratic republic before we wake up to reality? How much more of our money are both Washington's going to confiscate to waste or to reward the donors to election campaigns rather than using it for the common good?

Will we keep electing people who do not have the will, the desire, or the ability to do what is necessary for the common good but rather do what is in their best interest or to reward their cronies, their favored sons, and their big contributor's to their election campaigns?

Our future is in jeopardy. We had better wake up and make better informed decisions on who we elect to office in both Washingtons.

I just learned that Tim Eyman has produced an initiative (1053) to reinstate the provisions of I-960.

Please consider signing this initiative if you are tired of the legislature thwarting the will of the majority.

You can find the petition here:

The good thing about democracy is that we can call them out on these issues without fearing for our lives!
