This sounds like a good bill. While it would be better to charge tolls on all of the lanes, this bill is a step in the right direction. Charging tolls will likely lead to a reduction in traffic congestion over time. This will come either from reduced usage or improvements to the road.

Let's hope the toll money is kept in a separate corporate entity charged with maintenance and improvements to I-405.

 How about if we use the existing taxes like the gas tax exclusivly for road construction and maintinance? Oops sorry that make sense and we need excuses for NEW taxes!

Do you commute from mars? "Let's hope the toll money"... Why do we have to hope the toll money goes for maintenance and improvements to I-405? Is there any doubt that the money will go into the general fund for whatever little projects some politician wants it to go to?... this is just another scheme to create another bureaucracy and bilk the public of money.

 WHAT DO YOU MEAN SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD BILL?  THIS BILL IS ENABELING PORK FOR A BLOATED BREAUCRATIC LEGISLATURE & D.O.T. TO MISMANAGE OFF THE BACKS OF THE ALREADY OVERTAXED PEOPLE OF WASHINGTON STATE.  THE GAS TAX IS MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY TO KEEP OUR ROADS IN GREAT CONDITION.  REDUCED USAGE IS A DREAM NOT BASED IN REALITY AND THE ONLY IMPROVEMENTS WE CAN GENERATE IS TO VOTE THE CURRENT BUMS OUT OF OFFICE BY LEAVING NO INCUMBUNT STANDING!!!  KEEP THROWING THEM OUT UNTIL WE ELECT A GROUP WHO CAN KEEP WITHIN A FISCAL BUDGET THAT DIRECTS THE MONEY RECEIVED DIRECTLY TO THE PROJECT THE MONEY WAS INTENDED FOR.  WE CAN NO LONGER TRUST OUR POLITICIANS WHO ROUTINELY REDIRECT MONEY INTO THE GENERAL FUND FOR THEIR PERSONAL POLITICAL AGENDA.  MAKE A STATEMENT AND THROW THEM ALL OUT!  IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE ATTENTION OF POLITICIANS WHO ARE ENGAGED IN EMPIRE BUILDING.  OUR GOVERNMENT NEEDS A MONEY DIET AND WE THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON ARE “TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY”.
