This summary erroniously characterizes the amendment by omitting the following.

The 30-day delay in fulfilling the request for IVIPS data applies only in cases:

    14 If the disclosing

15 entity determines that the vehicle owner may be at an increased risk of

16 danger based on, but not limited to, the existence of a protective

17 order protecting the vehicle owner, or the existence of a criminal

18 conviction of a crime against persons involving the requester.

The Senate version agrees with the House version for 1.) a 30-day delay before the notification letter is sent, (except as noted above) and then 2.)strikes the attorney or PI's address from the notification letter.

Sorry but if anyone other than law enforcement wants info on vehicle owners then all info should be given to the vehicle owner. Any expenses incured should be paid for by the Requestor. DUH!
