(confession: I only read the summary)

Whatever happened to the idea of innocent until proven guilty?  Just because the police investigated does not prove criminal activity is occurring.  Most police agencies will investigate any allegation.  If they were to find nothing criminal, that is still an investigation.  This would imply that some tenant with a beef against the landlord could call in an allegation of criminal activity and force costs of this act on the landlord even if no criminal activity had occurred or was occurring (except, of course, the tenant's crime of filing a false police report.)

    1) What is the connection between a tenant breaking the law and a landlord?

    2) Is this a way to recruit a landlord to do police work and criminal investigation? Spying?

    3) What is the purpose in paying the landlord anything?  (Have we heard the words "civic duty"?)

    4) In order to prevent crime in his establishment, does a landlord evict someone because he thinks he/she is going to commit a crime?

        (Is that legal?)

    5) Do you selectively not choose your tenants on the basis of "they look like perps"!
