At least this is a small step in the direction of taking back the night sky.  So many newcomers into my area equate light-spewing "street lights" with safety that you can barely discern the Mily Way anymore.  The night sky here in Rosedale is dominated by the orange glow of the lights of Imperial Gig Harbor.  Spraying light into your neighbor's yard is just as offensive as playing loud music in the middle of the night, or dumping sewage into the roadside ditches.  It's time to start respecting the rights of others on the issue of light pollution.
