Why don't we first get kids learning the basics, Reading, Writing, Arithmatic, History, PE, before we get into this emotional crap. No wonder we need to import workers from overseas.

I completly agree. Right now we are facing a budget where we have to consolidate schools. Kids and teachers should stay focused on learning the basics, and that is where we should be spending our money. This is not the time to spend tax money on extras. It is not fiscally responsible.

Fantastic!  When social-emotional learning is built, there is an increased ability to learn other content matter and a stonger likelihood of developing youngsters who become healthy, successful, positive adults,  leading to a society made up of such individuals.  This is being proven out in research and I can attest to this from years of personal experience in the field.  I would be very interested in speaking about this in support of the bill if anyone can suggest a way to do so.
