Is this an unconstitutional establishment of religion?  It authorizes new rights to religious people that are denied to atheists.

It would appear that once a homeless person has found a home on church property, he or she is no longer homeless and therefore no longer able to benefit from this law.

This invalidates city zoning laws which permit churches in single family residential zones (because no one other than perhaps a pastor) lives there while all of a sudden allowing the equivalent of a multifamily "dwelling" in a single family zone without regard to number of people and the (former) "rights" of taxpayers and the rate payers of utilities.

I'd surely prefer not to have broken down campers and station wagons full of " homeless" ( read 50% addicts) authorized to live in the driveway next to mine. Lets really help the homeless. All those Government buildings right downtown are vacated by 5:30 pm every day and all weekend, we're paying the lights and heat there anyway......they have plenty of restrooms so there won't be urinating on my fence.....C'Mon legislators think a little bit! Always ready to give good gifts to the unfortunate as long as it doesn't cost YOU !!

At churches there are still alot of kids around. They need to be identified as to whether they are sex ofenders or drug users/ dealers. The community has a right to know.

As for this law, the local municipality should have the ultimate right to impose stricter limitations. At the very least the hosting organization should be required to prove a higher level of liability insurance and be held liable if these bums cause problems. I also think security should be provided in the area paid for by the hosting organization.

When are the legislators going to move these people into their gated communities, oh yeh, the idea behind the wall it to keep these people away from their homes. How about giving them land to camp on on the State capotral grounds!

So those cities that were stupid enough to allow churches in single family residential zones because (other than perhaps a parsonage) they would not be used for residential purposes are now going to be harmed by this feel-good legislation.

Once people are homeless due to the increase in their taxes, I propose that the legislature approve a measure that will allow the homeless to legally camp out on the capital grounds.  Just as a reminder how the legislature's short-sightedness worsen the problem.
