    NO MORE TAXES

This new tax is a loose loose tax. The cost to insure an auto now days is way to costly now, thats one of the many reasons we have so many uninsured drivers on the road. The only thing this tax is going to do is make it harder for the working class and retired people to afford to live. many people with fixed incomes can hardly survive on their fixed income now, adding to that is not going to anyone any good.

    too much

I CAN NOT AFFORD THIS! We don't all have the luxury of voting ourselves a raise every year!

    COMMUNIST!

You people are getting rediculous! it's not supposed to be citizen's versus the government in a democracy! Are you people looking for another civil war an us v.s. them society? the citizens are supposed to be helped by the government and the government is supposed to be the voice OF THE PEOPLE not them selfs, stop being a bunch of greedy pricks voting yourself pay increases and taxing us to the point where we can't afford to live anymore. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

    illegal workers??

What makes u think there not taxed! They receive a payroll check too just like you, if "you" work, and all payroll checks get taxes taken out of them, but unlike "legal workers" they can't claim there tax returns! So you ought to give illegal workers gratitude for helping you pay taxes, and doing a job you most likely wouldn't take anyways!

    Vehicle Tab TAXES

It wasn't many years ago that we voted for a $30 annual renewal tax for our license tabs. Then they added a $3 filing tax. That wasn't so bad. This year for my 2001 Camry there is the license tax, the filing tax, the weight base tax, the license service tax, the replacement plate tax (I don't need a replacement!), a plate reflectorization tax, and if I want to keep my same plate there is an additional "retain current plate number" tax. The total? $87.75. That is nearly triple what I voted for. Why didn't I get to vote on these increases? Why don't our politicians listen to us? Are we just the stupid citizens that don't really know what is good for us? If they need more money, why don't they clean up the waste? Are they saying there is no waste to clean up? Come on - you've got to be kidding.

    Poor Choices

I would buy a E85 Vehicle or a diesel auto tomorrow if in fact our state and for that matter our federal govt. was supporting renewable fuel options. But as usual, the lazy way is to: #1 Get money for the state #2 Try to force the hand of the consumer by taking their money for nothing. Use your brains Washington. We are a green state. Most everyone wants a green future. Taxing the crap out of us is not going to gain momentum.

This is what democrates do. They raise TAXES. Just keep voting them in. There will be no middle class, you will not be able to afford a home, car or groceries.

Our fore-fathers also had the guts to fight for what they believed in and they didn't look to the government to support them. We have given our rights over to the government both state & federal. Expect more new TAXES, that is what they do
  • Wed, Feb 20 2008 5:41 PM In reply to

Since when did our votes count for anything? It doesn't matter what we vote for, they will find a loop hole. AND WE WILL LET THEM! The only way to solve it is to vote anyone who raises or tries to raise our taxes OUT OF OFFICE! That is the only thing they understand.
  • Wed, Feb 20 2008 5:44 PM In reply to

    anonymous

lets vote not only Mr. Tom out of office but any congressman or woman who tries to raise our taxes. That is the only thing they will believe

    Enough Taxes

We have a high enough gas tax, the monies collected from it are just not being used the way they should be. Which is no big surprise, if I ran my household the way they run Olympia I would be out of house and home!

    not them

The thing is, is that it won't effect them. So they don't care. You are right, most if not all of them are out of touch. They don't know what living in the real day to day working world is like, and frankly I don't think they care.

    Taxes

The FAA has driven 46% of the general public away from flying small planes by its rules, regulations and the high cost of flying since 1984. Now they are doing it to the Ultralight Sport community, which is considered by the FAA and DOT to be 10 times safer than driving and fastest growing sport worldwide. So what makes you think this tax on cars is any different. Its Gov of the Gov, by the Gov and for the Gov that it will not parish from the earth thru taxation. Gov feeds on itself, more, bigger and better as they see it. Voting doesn't change a thing, it just changes the faces. I don't doubt that we are heading into what Russians lived with for 80 years.

Proposed Egine Displacement & Emission Fees

Pass this bill into law and you will have an uprising on your hands. How can you expect the lower and middle class citizens to pay the fees you are proposing. This bill (SB6900) needs to remain dead forever. The Democrats in office needs to look out for the good of out interest, not back stab us.

did you hear this Tom idiot on the radio

The idiot Senator Tom sounded like an idiot trying to defend this on the radio this afternoon. He just keep saying we have these super projects that have to be paid for, and when asked what happened to the $0.09 gas tax money his answer was "i cant fix the past, we just have to look to the future". He also kept referring to California and freaking EU as models of how this works. Are you kidding me? I dare any of the sponsors of this bill to look a Washington in the face and explain how this is reasonable legislation.

    Sen. Tom, tsk tsk ...........

So making Washington State a communist state is the best way to protect the environment? What's next? We're going to be told what to buy and when to buy it or what to wear on what day? If senator Tom was so worried about the environment, why doesn't he help to make green cars more affordable, to lower and middle class families. He wants to bank most, of the little money people might have so that three years from now he can answer, (when questioned about the money), "I can't fix the past...........". Oh yeah he already used that answer when questioned on the $0.09 gas tax not long ago. Vote NO on SB 6900. The government we vote in is supposed to be there to help and protect the people not screw them over and take their money every chance they get.

Senator Tom... head removal from sand

As with many elected officials, senator Tom has become disconnected with the every day realities that face the average citizen. Making a buck stretch probably isn't a necessity for him, so he can't imagine the rest of us having to do it. If you drive a less fuel efficient car, you are already paying more taxes with each extra gallon you pump into your vehicle. Isn't that fair and equitable already? Senator Tom, needs to get his head out of the sand and come live with one of our families for a couple of weeks to see how reality really is. You can come over to my house and drive my 15 passenger van and all of my kids around in it. Oh ya, maybe he won't be able to afford to drive it if he gets his way with his new tax.
