    Renters pay, too.

You don't think that the cost of a landlord's property insurance is reflected in the tenant's rent? Stop whining.

    Really Equitable ???

You must have been a real math ace to find any equivalance in that! Let's see... Hypothetical example: Prop Owner A owns 10 Acres in multifamily zoning Prop Owner B owns 10 acres in the same zoning Prop Owner A has a 100 unit Apartment complex and pays 1000 a year in property taxes (hypothetical remember) Prop Owner B has a single family dwelling and pays the same 1000 dollars a year in property taxes. Property Owner A passes that 1000 dollars to each of his 100 tenants to the tune of 10 dollars in rent increase per tenant. Property Owner B pays the entire 1000 dollars himself. Really equitable isn't it. Using equality and math like that you must be a politician!

    That's some hypothetical

Your "hypothetical" would never exist in any situation. An owner of 10 acres with a 100-unit apartment complex is NOT going to pay the same amount of taxes as an owner of 10 acres with a single family home. Those apartments would be worth far more than a single family home, so the apartment owner will be paying far more in property taxes.

    La La Land Again?

You need a clear dose of reality. Quote: Your "hypothetical" would never exist in any situation. An owner of 10 acres with a 100-unit apartment complex is NOT going to pay the same amount of taxes as an owner of 10 acres with a single family home. Those apartments would be worth far more than a single family home, so the apartment owner will be paying far more in property taxes. End Quote Obviously you have a *tunnel visioned* view of your world; equating all situations and examples to your own limited scope of existance. Your incorrect statement and your capitalized NOT, is so far off base as to be laughable. For your enlightenment, there are literally thousands of single family homes ranging anywhere from $500000 all the way up to millions. Likewise, there are thousands of 100 unit appartment complexes worth less than that. So before you go off waxing moronic about how something could never happen, perhaps you need to broaden your perspectives of the world a bit. The converse is true. Renters will never individually pay the same amount of tax as a property owner. In either situation your vision of equality is flawed as is your narrow world view.

    Abused citizen

Congratulations to those who voted to increase taxes to property owners once again. Changing to a simple majority rule to pass school levies effectively allows a small majority the power to increase everyone's taxes. This law will ensure that those of us on a fixed income end up losing our houses because we can't afford the exhorbitant increases in property taxes. Of course the legislature refused to honor the 58% majority vote of initiative 747 because it limits taxes. Nothing is new this legislative session. Tax and spend. Tax and spend.

Actually, Republicans favor education. Education means giving someone the knowledge and skill to survive without government handouts. Education to Democrats means indoctrinate children into liberal/social ideologies, sexual promiscuity at earlier and earlier ages, become union members, trial lawyers, and government employees, and expect government handouts throughout your life while you do absolutely nothing.

    Taxpayer

As a childless property owner, I object to having to keep paying more of my hard earned money to public schools that are failing to educate children. I ought to be able to direct my taxes to those schools, private or public, that are actually succeeding in educating children rather than brainwashing them which is really all the public schools succeed in doing.
