    Headlights and wipers

Sounds like we need another law for those who lack of common sense. Don't our legislators have anything better to do?

    SB 5067

I agree with the previous comment. This bill proves 'common sense is becomming very uncommon'! Surely there are more pressing issues Mr. Jacobsen could spend his time on. I guess he is on a mission to save all of us poor ignorant folks from ourselves.

    Is this the dems best?

Is this why the democrats are in power? To tell people when to turn lights on. Are we going to need hall monitors next?

    Does this include stolen vehicles?

Will this law include the stolen vehicles that are on the road because auto theft laws are not enforced and thieves jailed?

    LONG OVERDUE

It is a shame we must legislate common sense, but five minuets on a rainy day freeway will tell you otherwise. Lets pass and ENFORCE this one for public safety.

    Diverting attention

So, if I'm driving down the road and get a little spray on my windshield, I need to turn on my headrights, run the wipers 2 or three cycles, then turn my headlights off? And in the meantime, will the other drivers think I'm trying to signal something to them? All the while my attention is diverted from the actual driving during this little dashboard ballet. These guys have too much time on their hands.

If you have this much time to waste, how about passing a law limiting the number of headlights. Dark rainy nights and along comes 4 headlights right in your eyes!!! Worse then leaving headlights on bright. Some little trucks even have lights over cab. Makes for possible head on collision.

    Good intention - but--

So we are to use our traffic officers to write tickets for a wiper violation while an agressive driver, who should have the officer's attention, goes free? Is this the best use of limited resources?

    Running Lights

Do the "Running Lights" that are on continually count as "Headlights" on? ..... Or do I need to actually turn on the "Headlights" when the "Windshield wipers" are used? ..... Posted 02/08/2007
