10-cent per gallon Gas Tax increase proposal

If you're looking for the transportation revenue legislation, including a proposed 10-cent per gallon gas tax increase, it hasn't been officially introduced yet. House Bill 1954 looks to be the likely vehicle, it's a title-only "Concerning Transportation Revenue" bill. As soon as it is introduced, we'll get it into the WashingtonVotes.org system to share what this package contains. Stay tuned!

We already have one of the highest gas taxes in the nation, the economy is still in the crapper and you want to raise the gas tax again! you people are insane. The Washington legislature and governor have the same problem with spending that the Feds and Obama do. You need to get your priorities straight. Law enforcement, Basic health care, Education, Infrastructure (Roads, Water, Sewer Power, etc.) Everything else is on the chopping block to cut including the salaries for the Legislature and governor! At least the people have to vote on t or the legislature must get a 2/3 vote though I'm sure you are already working to find an end run around that!

Looks like the legislature found a way around the 2/3 vote, by having the state supreme cout delcare it unconstitutional...  Figures.

Stand by for the highest gas tax (among others) in the nation...  Not sure why but it seems our legislature wants to impress Obama by emualting him rather than doing what's best for the citizens of this state.

Remember, it's not the government we deserve, it's the government that the state of King voted for...
