Olympia has some creative ways to title proposed legislation so as to obscure its true intent. But sometimes, it's downright awkward. Take House Bill 1545. Here's the official bill title:
"Guaranteeing that the top one percent pay too, through assessing a two percent tax on millionaires to fund the paramount duty trust fund and reduce class sizes in grades kindergarten through four." A mouthful, isn't it? And it's all about school children K-4. You think?
Here's how WashingtonVotes analysts title it: "Creating an income tax on high-wage earners." Now, which title is more forthright and informative? Check it out yourself, and stay with WashingtonVotes.Org to give you straight, unbiased information on what's going on in Olympia. No spin. No nonsense.
