Governor promises reform in inaugural address

Yesterday, Governor Gregoire delivered her inagural address to the State Legislature.  During her speech she focused on reforming government, at one point stating, "too much of what served the people well in 1940 or 1960 or 1990 does not serve the people well in the 21st century."  Do you agree with the Governor?  Is Government in need of an overhaul?  If so, what would you change?

The fiscal responsibility practiced in the last century served us well. I fail to see how a $6 Billion deficit  along with soaring budgets is the 21st century reform we need.

I wonder how many people would have voted for Gregoire again if the additional amount of budget deficit that was announced after the Election would have been available during the election?

I also wonder how many state workers and teachers would have voted for her if they knew 3 months ago that she would re-neg on raises and cost-of-living adjustments. I have teacher friends that REFUSED to vote Dino Rossi because of their own greedy financial self-interest. Now Gregoire has dashed their hopes and shown her true colors but taking tough stances on raises. You got duped people!

This is what big spending Democrats do. How can Government point fingers at Americans and their gluttony of consumerism when Government does the same????

When will there be fiscal accountability and responsibility??

This term will be painful for Gregoire as she will have to battle her fellow "big spenders" as she tries to quell state unemployment and economic recession.

Should be fun to watch,

Lets start reforming government by taking an honest scientific look at the so called "man-made global warming" scam.

More scientists are coming out of the woodwork saying that this is a big time scam. Our Washington State government is moving full bore forward to regulate every aspect of our llives under the guise of saving the planet.

We have a bunch of Socialist/Marxists ( look this words up in the dictionary and you will see that this is not a prjoritive)legistators and bureaucrats that have power over our lives and the earth is their religion. They will not stop for any reason and care not about the facts.

I am for clean air, water, etc, but it also needs to be looked at with respect to the cost/benefit analysis. The costs and unintended consequences have an enormous negative impact on the economy and our way of life.

If the water and air is 95% clean and no humans, fish, animals, worms, etc. are not getting sick and dieing, why do I want to try to hit 96% or above? As we strive to get towards 100% the costs go up exponenctially. This relates to everything we do in our lives. If the government would run like most of us run  our lives and finances, we would not be in the fix that we are in now.

I am a "man-made global warming" skeptic and if you have noticed the the terms are being changed. It is now "climate change".
