2007 Senate Bill 5383: Modifying provisions of the energy freedom program.

To expand the Energy Freedom Program to include community action agencies. Among other changes, the bill would allow the director to fund 100% of a project’s cost if the project is that of a community action agency. Generally, the Energy Freedom Program may only contribute up to 50% of the total project cost.   Official Text and Analysis.

To strike all references to community action agencies in the original bill. Allows nonprofit organizations to apply for funding from the Energy Freedom Program. Expands the scope of eligible projects under the Energy Freedom Program to include wind projects of up to 5 megawatts. Moves the Energy Freedom Program from the Department of Agriculture to the Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development.
