2011 House Bill 1099: Limiting the use of automated traffic safety cameras

Modifies current pilot programs for traffic safety cameras. This act requires local government entities to make provisions in their ordinances for a maximum number of cameras and to put the proposed ordinance to a public vote. No changes may be made to the ordinances without voter approval. This act also clarifies that infractions of such ordinances are simply infractions and not part of a driver’s official driving record and cannot be made available to the driver’s insurance company or employer.   Official Text and Analysis.
