2010 House Bill 2718: Concerning defendants who are found to be guilty and mentally ill

Establishes guidelines that allow courts to consider a defendant to be both guilty and mentally ill. If the defendant is guilty, but fails to be acquitted due to the insanity defense, yet is still mentally insane, that person will carry out part of their sentence in a mental health facility and the rest in jail.   Official Text and Analysis.
