- Introduced by Rep. Matt Shea (R) on February 16, 2011, limits enrollment in all taxpayer-funded health care and human service programs, including basic health care and food stamps, to individuals who are citizens of the United States or meet the definition of a qualified alien. This act provides that no state resources shall be used for (1) investigating the eligibility of an applicant who has not submitted satisfactory documentation or (2) used to purchase satisfactory documentation for an applicant. This act does allow the Department to provide applicants with a list of community resources that help applicants locate and obtain satisfactory documentation.

1) Re: 2011 House Bill 1976 (Limiting enrollment in certain health care and human service programs to United States citizens and qualified aliens) by Lainie59 on February 17, 2011Upon reading the bill, I was surprised to learn that taxpayers not only pay for health care services and food stamps for those here illegally, but also pay for them to deal with immigration. This is outrageous use of taxpayer's money.
The only way to solve the problem of so many people coming here illegally is to cut off taxpayer funded benefits and services which give them an added incentive to come here.
This bill is a COMMON SENSE solution in helping stop the flow of illegals coming into the country.
This is a good start. Next lets look at the cost to our schools and then limit them to US citizens and legal aliens. I am not mean, racist or vindictive but we pay our taxes to support our way of life and it is time we realize that we need to protect it.
