Juveniles that make poor choices will not learn from the experience unless there are consequences. Requiring the educational system to cater to these kids simply teaches them that socfiety will rush in to "save" them at every opportunity. This is the typical Democaratic reaction: the poor kid is not able to keep up with his/her classmates so lets crutch the system for them. This is so typical, fruitless and costly that it really does fit with the current Democratic agenda.

Why use taxpayer monies to fund the education of juvenile criminals when all that is necessary is to get a campaign going to ask for volunteers who want to serve their communities to step up to the plate.
I volunteer without compensation of any kind to help grade schoolers read. Since the "education" of our children doesn't seem to include learning how to read by the time you are in fourth or fifth grade, why should taxpayers be burdened with further expenses to "educate" kids in jail?

I thought there was a program already in place for people who want to get their GED in prison, why not use the same program for juveniles, or is this just another way to spend tax-payer's money. As they're in prision they should suffer the same amount as student in the classroom. Sitting for six hours a day, listening to boring teachers, doing boring lessons, taking the same tests, getting the same grades and memorizing for the test as the rest of the high schoolers. As well as repeating the same grade as necessary. Unless they can guarentee that plus detention hall, then this is a waste of tax-payer's money. Oh and one other thing, as long as the juveniles are LEGAL citizens.... NO more wasting tax payer's money on ILLEGALS, unless it is a forced migration back to where they came from.
