This (JR8202) is clearly a statement and a desire for governmental arrogance shutting off another communications path with the voters.  It should not be supported, or even proposed.  The role of government is to help the citizens and businesses succeed, not to impede or repress it.

The initiative and referendum process is the closest our state gets to real democracy.  Unfortunately our legislature believes that they know better than the people who voted them into office and that voter initiatives should somehow carry less weight than bills put forth by their committees.  A law passed by initiative should be harder to countermand by the legislature and courts than it is.  the voice of the people should be harder to drown out in the clamor of bureaucracy.
