Studed tires have saved more lives, auto/truck wrecks and provided hundreds of people a way to work then anything the goverment has provided.  This is an unfair tax/fee to put onto rural people living in and farming area that do not live in the nicities of down town Seattle.

Why not spend more time on our energy needs.  Refineries/Natural Gas ports in our port citys such Aberdeen, Hoquiam or other port cities and provide jobs.  Forget this crap about windpower, solar power.  These power sources are many years away. We are awash in natural gas and oil reseves if we would get to drilling for it and again provide jobs and revenue for this state.

Will these fees be used to pay for plowing and salting the roads when it snows?  This is typical.  The government fails to provide services like drivable streets in the winter time and then taxes people who are responsible enough to put traction devises on thier vehicle so that they don't cause accidents.  how about a traffic fine for every vehicle that gets stuck blocking a public right of way or causes an accident due to slipping on snow/ice.  then the citys and county government could continue to not plow the snow or de-ice and make even more money.
