Introduced by Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, (D-Camano Island) (D) on January 27, 2009, establishes a college in Snohomish County to provide baccalaureate and graduate level programs. The priorities of the college will be high employer demand fields such as science, technology, and engineering; and preparing students for careers in clean energy technology and architecture.

Making higher education available in Snohomish county is essential to the growth and business climate of the area. In these economic times it makes sense to have these opportunities available to citizens in their local area. Higher educational opportunities in our area also puts us on the map as a viable, involved community. I believe it will bring in new business, new homeowners, and definitely increase tax revenue.
