Of course this is bad idea... we don't wish to encourage ever more slaughtering of innocent animals.  Would that I could, encourage the dismanteling of all animal slaughter as none of it is necessary.  We live fine on a plant based diet.  The needless killing of animals cannot be defended given the compassionate and healthy vegan alternatives.

Upon further research I see this simply adds other additional species to the list which can be slaughtered. So more animals will be slaughtered if this bill passes, hence my original two reasons for opposing this bill still apply. Please do not pass this bill!

PS - What requirements must the person possess in order to slaughter chickens, other than $75 and the proper sanitation and storage of the carcasses? Are they required to painlessly or quickly kill the animals, do they have to have special training to handle these terrified birds? Or is a person allowed to kill an animal in anyway he or she sees fit because the animal is being eaten, and not petted? Any law that alters regulations on the slaughter of animals needs to take these considerations into account and make sure that, if an animal is going to be killed, the animal at the very least not suffer or be frightened in any way.
