Introduced by Sen. Steve Hobbs, (D-Lake Stevens) (D) on January 16, 2009, to add insurance coverage for the care of persons employed by the state or their dependents under the age of twenty-one that have autism spectrum disorder. This bill also requires that any health plan offered to the public cover autism spectrum disorder. In addition, this act requires the insurance commissioner to monitor and regulate the rules of this section with regards to adequate coverage. See also HB 1210.
