Introduced by Rep. Steve Conway, (D-Tacoma) (D) on January 22, 2009, to allow a firefighter to accept a reduced retirement allowance for the purpose of providing an ongoing benefit to an ineligible spouse. The firefighter has one year from the enactment of this act to choose the reduced retirement allowance. This reduction will not affect any allotment that is due a designated child under this act.
