Introduced by Rep. Jim Jacks, (D) (D) on January 21, 2009, to support forestry operations on lands that are surrounded by non-forestry activities. This bill establishes that land, even if passively maintained, being used to grow a merchantable stand of timber shall be considered a forest practice. This would allow property to remain in forestry operations despite the encroachment of non-forestry activities.
