Introduced by Rep. Larry Springer, (D-Kirkland) (D) on January 16, 2009, to increase the number of days that a non-eligible entity may use property that is exempt from property taxes. The number of days are increased from twenty-five to fifty days in a calendar year.

  - Substitute offered in the House on February 5, 2009, to eliminate the requirement that rental charges must not exceed the maintenance and operation expenses created by the user. The time used for setup and takedown activities preceding or following a meeting or other event does not count against the 15 and 50 day limitation. Dear Democrats ...After you're done exempting all your favorite left wing friends maybe you would consider the elderly who are trying to keep their homes while paying all the taxes on their land, gas, income, engine displacement, etc. etc. etc.......

This needs to be re-visited. We should be able to specify where our property tax money goes. Arts, NO, Hostoric, maybe, Science, maybe.

Legislators have no clue to where money needs to be spent or how to prioritize. Frankly all expenditures need to be put to a public vote, we can no longer trust the state legislature.
