2009 House Bill 1235: Regarding higher education tuition-setting practices
  1. Introduced by Rep. Deb Wallace, (D-Vancouver) (D) on January 15, 2009, to make permanent the practices of setting tuition prices for higher education. This act permanently allows governing boards of colleges and universities to raise and lower prices. The bill also removes requirements for when the rates shall be set for the 2009-10 academic year.       • Substitute offered in the House on February 13, 2009, to remove provisions that would have made current tuition-setting authorities permanent and replaced with provisions that include an end date for those authorities. The substitute passed by voice vote in the House on February 13, 2009.
