2008 House Bill 3312 (Regarding biological remediation technologies for on-site sewage disposal systems)

  • Introduced by Rep. Maralyn Chase, (D-Shoreline) on January 30, 2008, to assist homeowners upgrade or fix failing on-site sewage systems by removing regulatory barriers. To require the State Department of Health to adopt rules for the use of biological remediation technologies and allow local jurisdictions to provide a fee free permit for the use of these technologies. This act also contains monitoring and reporting requirement for both the State and local jurisdictions.

      • Substitute offered in the House on February 5, 2008, to assist homeowners upgrade or fix failing on-site sewage systems by removing regulatory barriers. To require the State Department of Health to adopt rules for the use of biological remediation technologies and allow local jurisdictions to provide a fee free permit for the use of these technologies. This act removes the reporting requirements to the Legislature by the State Department of Health that the original bill contained. The substitute passed in the House by voice vote on February 5, 2008.
