1) experienced assistant [by Anonymous Citizen on June 6, 2007]
Dental assistants like myself, who work so closely with dentists, have needed the opportunity to expand their skills and abilities for a long time. Many dental hygienists cannot even take simple study model impressions, or fabricate provisional fillings and crowns! It is not a task that requires a college degree. To say otherwise is insulting to my profession.

2) Registered Dental Hygienist [by Anonymous Citizen on April 11, 2007]
New Section 6
line 16-- I would ask that this be deleted. Point of clarifcation and justification: This will allow an uneducated (NO COLLEGE DEGREE, only a high school diploma requirement to be an assistant in this state) person's to preform irreversible procedures in the mouth. Remember that you have teeth also. "Assistants" will be performing these procedures on you personally if this law passes.

Line 17- Do you realize that even Registered Dental Hygienists in this state are not allowed to take final impressions. Why should a non-licensed assistant be allowed to do so?
