2005 House Bill 1336: Coverage for hearing aids
Introduced by Rep. Dennis Flannigan, (D-Tacoma) (D) on January 19, 2005
To require that a group insurance contract, blanket disability insurance contract, and an insurer that offers to any individual a health benefit plan that provides prostheses coverage will include coverage for hearing aids. Covered hearing instruments and related services are to be provided by a licensed audiologist or hearing instrument fitter/dispenser. See Companion SB 5277.   Official Text and Analysis.

To provide additional cost-control provisions. Prior to being fitted with a hearing aid, a person must receive a recommendation of a physician, advanced registered nurse practitioner, or a physician assistant.
