Introduced by Rep. Tom Campbell, (R-Roy) (R) on January 15, 2003, to enact the Health Facility Quality Assurance and Patient Protection Act. The facilities or services covered by this section are the following: acute care hospitals licensed under chapter 70.41 RCW; psychiatric hospitals licensed under chapter 71.12 RCW; and alcohol and chemical dependency hospitals licensed under chapter 71.12 RCW. This bill authorizes the Department of Health to survey and inspect facilities to determine compliance with the conditions of licensure.
Referred to the House Health Care Committee on January 15, 2003, but the bill did not receive a hearing by the cutoff date so it is considered a “dead bill” (although technically the bill could become active at any time during the 2003-2004 session).
Referred to the House Health Care Committee on January 12, 2004, and active in the 2004 Legislative Session.
